Selection And Admission Preparation Methods

In the counseling room

With educational reforms and changes in the higher education system, universities and four-year vocational colleges/two-year junior colleges offer diverse pathways to higher education. However, choosing the right path and major from these diverse opportunities to make informed career decisions and plans is a crucial issue. Therefore, in addition to studying hard and achieving good grades, students should engage in self-exploration to understand their aptitudes, interests, personality traits, and values. They should also collect and organize relevant information, including school and department information, career information, and future development trends. Only through comprehensive evaluation can they create a suitable future for themselves.

In the face of the various changes in the diversified admission scheme, we hope that students can correctly understand the meaning, connotation and coping strategies of the diversified admission scheme. The counseling office will continue to update relevant information and compile this handbook for students’ reference.

The content includes “University Admission Information,” “Application Materials,” “Interview Preparation,” and “Experiences from Senior Students.” The “University Admission Information” section provides information for both high school and vocational high school students. The former includes an introduction to diverse university admission programs, advice on choosing admission pathways, and a schedule of important admission dates for this year. The latter includes an overview of diverse admission pathways for four-year technical colleges and two-year vocational colleges, along with a schedule of important admission dates for this year, to provide students with accurate information on university admissions.

The “Preparation Materials” section mainly explains the materials required for students participating in the second stage of the admission selection process, including the writing and arrangement of resumes, personal statements, study plans, essays, and teacher recommendation letters, and provides templates for students’ reference. Students are especially reminded that starting in 2014, all application materials for the second stage of the individual admission process will be submitted electronically. Please pay attention to the upload deadlines and instructions for each school.

In the “Interview Preparation” section, in addition to interview techniques and general interview questions to help students improve their interview skills and etiquette, the Counselling Office has compiled interview questions from our 2015 graduating class (interview questions provided by previous graduates can be found on our school’s [Counseling Office website/Admission Handbook] or in the Career Planning Room). We thank our alumni for their selfless sharing of their interview experiences. Furthermore, we have categorized professional interview questions by academic group or department for students’ reference.

Finally, the “Senior Students’ Experiences” section in this handbook compiles the insights and advice from senior students who returned to campus for alumni forums and after enrolling, aiming to pass on their experiences and provide role models for their juniors. The last page includes a list of “Related Websites for Higher Education,” encouraging students to search for the information they need and to dedicate themselves fully to their exam preparation.

The counseling center will support students in facing the challenges of higher education. Students who need assistance are welcome to come for consultation. We also wish every student success in their exams and a bright future.
